Libros De Ricardo: Billet Disney for Children started several years ago because of the lack of good children's literature in Spanish for teachers like myself with a very tight budget. All the professional literature I read, whether phonics-related or whole-language related, says that the more a child reads the better reader he or she becomes. During Silent Reading Time in my class I never had enough Spanish books for my students. We had to take them from our school library and rotate them among the children, or my school would buy a few books for each class and the teachers would rotate them among their classes. Both of these approaches got old real fast! So, I decided to do something about it and started this company.

Do you have a book list? No, we do not. When you order a set of books from us we send you a variety of books - all different titles and grade levels to meet the needs of the high and low readers in each classroom (minimum order is 25 books). This allows us to keep our prices very low and still meet the needs of most educators and their students.
Why is the price of your books so much less than the price of comparable books sold by other companies? One of our main goals to to keep our prices low. We are able to achieve this goal because:
we buy the books in very large quantities we are a very small company with low overhead
Can I get one grade level - for instance just First Grade books? Although we do not send just one grade level, we can send books geared for grades K-1, or 2-3 if you note your request on your order form.
If we order a lot of books can we get a discount? We already have marked the books down as much as we can go - so we cannot go below $1.95 per book whether its a large order or a small order.
Can we get books from just one specific country, i.e. Mexico? Yes, if you note this on your order form we will try to accommodate you.
Do you offer hardback books? No, we do not.
Do you offer books for grades 4 or above? We are sorry but we do not.
Why do you have a 2-8 week delivery time? Normally we can deliver within 2 weeks of receiving your order. But if we are out of stock, since our suppliers are from outside of the U.S., it can take several weeks for us to receive the merchandise.

Spanish Books for Children
In addition to selling library sets, Libros De Ricardo: Spanish Books for Children also offers a Student Monthly Book Club of Spanish books for children. It works just like the other Student Book Clubs that are offered in schools to teachers except that all of the books are in Spanish. The books are at kindergarten through third grade level from Central America, South America, and Spain. Usually there are between 10 to 20 titles to choose from. Teachers can receive free books for their classroom libraries when their students buy a certain number of books.

It's also true that in every class some students read on par with their grade level, while other students read at either above or below grade level. For this reason a good Spanish library for children should span several grade levels.
